Who We Are
Friends of the
Yardley-Makefield Library
is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support for the services and resources of the library.

It comprises a group of devoted residents who believe that an excellent library is an essential community asset that reinforces lifelong learning and provides access to information for all.
We are members of
What We Do
Our primary fundraiser is the book and media sale held each year. All of the items sold are donated by the public and reviewed and organized by the Friends. Members of the community have shown overwhelming support for the book sales by their attendance and by donations of good quality books, audio books, DVDs, CDs, and puzzles.

With the money raised, the Friends organization funds special programs at the library on a variety of subjects, including local interest, culture, and music, that are offered on select Saturday afternoons. In addition to these programs, we also provide for weekly Chair Yoga and Tai Chi sessions.

We also cover the subscription to BookPage, a monthly magazine that highlights the best new books across all genres and that is available, free of charge, at the library. And we contribute to library renovations, media equipment, library furnishings and supplies, and special events, all of which improve the library experience.
